Our detailed Faculty Handbook for Building CE/SL Courses and Projects outlines the major steps to builiding a new CE/SL course/project:

  1. Understand the Service Learning (SL) and Community Engaged (CE) Course Designations.
  2. Build out a sample syllabus.
  3. Talk to the Office of Academic Community Engagement.
  4. Start the Designation Process in CELT:
  5. Finish the process in Curriculog.
  6. Establish the community partnership with complianace in mind.

PROJECT/COURSE INCUBATOR

ACE offers a New CE/SL Course/Project Incubator where faculty can apply to recieve a small amount of grant money along with one-on-one mentorship from an experienced CE/SL faculty member.  Applications open in March for the following academic year.
